Naturopathic Practice

Naturopathic practice includes the following diagnostic and treatment modalities: utilization of all methods of clinical and laboratory diagnostic testing including diagnostic radiology and other imaging techniques; nutritional medicine, dietetics and therapeutic fasting; medicines of mineral, animal and botanical origin; hygiene and public health measures; homeopathy; acupuncture; chinese medicine, psychotherapy and counseling; minor surgery and naturopathic obstetrics (natural childbirth), naturopathic physical medicine including naturopathic manipulative therapies; the use of hydrotherapies, heat, cold, ultrasound, and therapeutic exercise.

*Naturopathic practice excludes major surgery and the use of most synthetic drugs

Clinical Nutrition

Nutritional therapies have fewer complications and side effects than pharmaceutical drugs. Many conditions are treated successfully with nutrition alone. The therapeutic use of foods has always been a cornerstone of naturopathic medicine.

Botanical Medicine

Botanical medicine is the use of plants as medicine in tinctures, capsules, teas, and many other forms.  Many plant substances are powerful medicines, effective and safe when used properly, in the right dose and in proper combinations with other herbs or treatments.

Homeopathy

This powerful system of medicine is based on the "law of similars" (like cures like). Specially prepared dilutions of substances are carefully matched with the patient to stimulate the body's innate ability to heal.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles into the skin at points that stimulate the body’s energy.  Acupuncture seeks to balance the individual through tonifying or moving energy.

Physical Medicine

Various physical therapies are used to treat the body including manipulation of the muscles, bones and spine. Heat and cold, gentle electric impulses, ultrasound, diathermy, hydrotherapy and exercise therapy are also used.

Constitutional Hydrotherapy

The purpose of this treatment is to stimulate a more rapid improvement in health, along with the application of specific dietary therapy and other measures.  It can be used whenever there is a fever or febrile illness, or to ward off illness which is beginning to manifest. It is strengthening and healing to the digestive system, helps to normalize circulation, soothes the nervous system, stimulates eliminative and detoxifying processes, and stimulates the vital force.
